Best Fan Catches in the AAPB in 2022

Okay, so maybe I'm a bit biased here, but here are the best fan catches in the American Association last year.

#1- At the SteelYard in Gary, IN, Facebook game of the week vs. Cleburne.

#2- All Star Game, Impact Field, July 12. Jabari Henry hit what turned out to be the game winning home run. My cousin's son Nolan was there to make a shoestring catch.

#3- The SteelYard, July 10. The Rowdy Railcats Cowbell Crew was sitting in the right field seats behind the visitors bullpen. Chicago Dogs outfielder Danny Mars launched a ball to right field. It was a sunny afternoon, and none of us saw the ball off the bat. But Jesus Marriaga was racing towards the fence in front of us, so we all knew the ball was coming our direction. I had my glove on, put my right hand up to block the Sun, and as soon as I did, I spotted the ball. It seemed huge in that moment, and getting bigger. I remember thinking "There it is," as I drifted to my left, fell over the guy next to me (that's how we met our ballpark buddy Dave), and the ball landed in my glove. It was the first ball I ever caught on the fly, and it was a home run.

So maybe I'm biased, but Railcats games are what I see most, and these ones stood out in my memory.
